VOLCANOES
In this section you will learn about Volcanoes and the three types of volcanoes, such as the Composite Volcanoes, Shield Volcanoes ,and the Cinder Cone Volcanoes. Volcanoes is a place on earth's surface were it has many kinds of minerals and goes all bursting through earth's crust. A dormant volcano is not active but not extinct.
COMPOSITE VOLCANO
Composite volcanoes are known as strait volcanoes. It's cone shaped mountain has steep, smooth, long slopes surrounding the volcano. All composite volcanoes are located at a subduction zone. When this volcano it either erupts smooth and gentle or loud and violently.
SHIELD VOLCANO
Shield volcanoes have a large volcano structure with long slopes built almost entirely from fluid lava flows. Shield volcanoes are mainly located at a divergent location. These volcanoes are named for their large size and low profile. Shield volcanoes erupt explosively.
CINDER CONE VOLCANO
A Cinder Cone Volcano has a cone like structure built almost entirely out of accumulation of loose bits of magma called Scoria and it only has 1 vent. Cinder cone volcanoes are the smallest type of volcanoes. All Cinder Cone volcanoes have very steep sides. It's center at the top has a bowl shaped crater on it. When a Cinder Cone volcano erupts it does not erupt softly and quiet instead it erupts noisy and violent.
